The convention brings forth a blend of tabletop, video game, and arcade fans. It was held in San Antonio where it always has been in mid-January, and in Boston PAX East was held from the end of February to the 1st of March. PAX West hasn’t been held yet and has been scheduled for September.

#2: Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) – Status: Cancelled

Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) Gaming Conventions Cancelled

The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) was supposed to be held in the month of June from 9th June to 11th June in Los Angeles, CA. It’s considered the most integral gaming convention, more commonly known as “E3”.

The Convention features several compelling showcases and the biggest announcements in the gaming industry. In the previous convention, Xbox revealed their new console labeled the “Xbox Series X”, and called it “Project Scarlett”. If the convention was held, Sony would have announced its new PS5 console, but it was canceled. Sony did announce the console, but not at the convention.

It’s one of the best conventions held every year, and this year’s E3 would’ve been the 26th one, but it had to be canceled.

#3: DreamHack – Status: Held

It’s truly one of the best conventions and even holds the “Guinness Book of Records” for hosting the largest LAN party ever. The venue of the convention is switched every year with this year’s conventions being held in Leipzig, Germany, Anaheim, and CA (U.S.).

Gamescom Gaming Conventions canceled

Major gaming conventions usually take place in the month of August, and this year wasn’t going to be any different. But due to the pandemic, the GamesCom, scheduled to be held in August (25-29), has been canceled, so there are no conventions in this year’s August. Publishers reveal their major games at this convention, but that’s not happening this year due to a worldwide crisis.

If it did take place, it would feature major games for the next-gen consoles or even sequels to the current popular games. The games may still be revealed, but they won’t be as epic as they would’ve been at the GamesCon convention.

The Paris Games Week is quite identical to E3 and GamesCom conventions, but it’s held in Paris. This year’s Paris Games Week is going to be held in October (23rd to 27th), the same date as the Fan Expo Dallas. It doesn’t really complicate things as the two conventions are held in different places, so the same person isn’t likely to want to go to both.

It’ll likely feature new games and new hardware release, and their gameplay as well, so if you’re in Paris, be sure to buy a ticket for the convention!
