David Taylor, RN, is the Supervisor of Telehealth Services at the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) of the Rockford Area in Rockford, IL. His professional experience underscores his two passions – 1) improving the lives of patients through 2) the use of innovative technology and biotechnology, in combination with patient-centric programming.
In his current role with the VNA, Taylor has developed and implemented a new telehealth program for the agency, in addition to a specialty program in conjunction with Rockford Memorial Hospital to address high readmission rates among cardiac care patient populations.
Prior to his work with the VNA, he worked for AstraZeneca, a global biopharmaceutical company, and in collaboration with primary care physicians and specialists to address the needs of specific patient populations using pharmaceutical solutions.
Taylor also spent nearly a decade working in field of organ and tissue recovery. In addition to co-authoring a section of a nursing textbook on organ and tissue recovery, Taylor has served as an educator numerous times on the subject of organ and tissue recovery, as well as presented the results of his telehealth programs regionally and nationally.
Taylor was recognized as Nurse of the Year for the state of Illinois by NAHC in 2013.
